Parvo Virus

Parvovirus is a potentially deadly microscopic virus, which is passed on through contact with contaminated faeces, objects that have been in contact with the virus and even soil. Parvo is a very resilient virus that can survive months, possibly even years in the right environment. According to the Disease Watchdog there have been 9 cases of parvo reported in the past two months, 7 of which were in the Kelso to Kirwan corridor. Parvo is a horrible disease that causes lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting and in many cases death even with treatment. It is very preventable with vaccination - a C3, C4 or C5 vaccination all include protection from the parvovirus. Please ensure your puppy or dog has adequate protection from this terrible disease. Prevention is far better and cheaper than the trying to treat a dog with parvo.
